Arena football: Dodge among players who re-sign with Barnstormers

BY DAN JOHNSON • REGISTER STAFF WRITER • December 1, 2008

The Iowa Barnstormers will have a familiar look in 2009.

The arenafootball2 team has re-signed seven players from last season's team. The team announced Monday it has re-signed wide-receiver-defensive back Tim Dodge, kicker Jeff Glas, fullback J.J. Payne, offensive-defensive lineman Charles Edwards, wide receiver Dusty Kain, and quarterback Brian Villanueva. Starting quarterback Joe Brannen was previously re-signed.

Dodge, the af2's 2004 Ironman of the Year, will be starting his sixth season of arena football. He plays as a sidelight to his regular job of being a youth director at Oakwood Church in Pleasant Hill.

“I’m excited to return to the Barnstormers for another season,” Dodge, said. “It’s a great opportunity for me to be able to play near home and in front of the best fans in arena football.”
