NEW JOBS

Dr. Stephen Stefani has been named chief of anesthesiology at Broadlawns Medical Center. Stefani first joined Broadlawns in 1988. A graduate of University of Iowa College of Medicine in Iowa City, Stefani did his residency at the University of Iowa and a fellowship at the University of California in San Francisco. He is board certified by the American Board of Anesthesiology and is a past president of the Iowa Society of Anesthesiologists.

Pioneer Hi-Bred, a DuPont business, has announced the following hires:

April Agee has joined as a post-doctoral researcher in discovery. She will work to understand how plants tolerate drought stress. Agee previously attended graduate school at the University of California-Riverside.

Keith Bundt has joined as a strategic buyer. He will source and manage the supply base for both promotional and maintenance and repair and operational products. Bundt was previously with Emco Enterprises Inc.

Rachel Huegel has joined as a senior research associate. She is responsible for vector construction for the corn yield enhancement initiative. Huegel was previously with the U.S. Department of Agriculture-ARS National Animal Disease Center in Ames.

Trevor Jones has joined as a research assistant. He will prepare and formulate media and solutions. Jones was previously at Central College in Pella.

Eric Welch has joined as a control systems project engineer. He will manage control systems and automation projects. Welch was previously with Siemens Water Technologies in Ames.


GOOD DEEDS

Delta Dental of Iowa employees, along with the corporate matching gift program, contributed more than $49,400 to United Way of Central Iowa, a 7 percent increase from last year. Employees also participated in United Way's Day of Caring at the Aliber Child Development Center, located at the YWCA. During this event, the employees presented Delta Dental's Teeth on the GoSM program that helps children develop good dental habits.
