Beginning December 7th Calvary Chapel Living Hope will be offering a message of hope and encouragement at Hamilton's on Westown Parkway. Calvary Chapel has been in West Des Moines for over four years meeting at local elementary schools. They are now making the move to Hamilton's on Westown to accommodate their growing needs.

Although new to many Iowans, the Calvary Chapel ministry began in 1965 as a small, non-denominational Christian church. Today, there are over 1300 Calvary Chapel fellowships worldwide, including three of the ten largest churches in the United States.
Believing the Bible to be the inspired Word of God and the only authority for faith and conduct, at Calvary Chapel they place a strong emphasis on teaching God's Word in a way that is relevant to us today in America.
Although only here for four years the vision for Calvary Chapel in West Des Moines began a long time ago. Their website tells the story as follows:
“The Lord began to grow the vision for Calvary Chapel Living Hope in the late 1990's. My wife Becky and I had been plugged in at Calvary Chapel Placentia, now East Anaheim, for many years and had been learning and growing in the love and grace of our Lord Jesus. Over the years we learned that while many churches in the Midwest teach from the Bible, or about the Bible, not many were actually teaching through the Bible. We desired to share this style of ministry with others because it had impacted our lives in such a profound way.
In the spring of 2003, while I was an Assistant Pastor at Calvary Chapel East Anaheim, the Lord spoke to our hearts that the time was near to step out in faith and move to West Des Moines to plant Calvary Chapel Living Hope. We felt that two earmarks of Calvary Chapel East Anaheim were the love and grace of God. We prayed and continue to pray that this would hold true of Calvary Chapel Living Hope as well. In the summer of 2003 we began to share this vision with others. By January of 2004 several of us began meeting in our living room in Southern California in what was the beginning of Calvary Chapel Living Hope.
We are so blessed by what God has done at Calvary Chapel Living Hope. He continues to bring special people who love God and have grown to love one another passionately and from the heart. This is His will. Our desire is to continue to grow together in the love and grace of our Lord Jesus! He is building His Church. We believe He desires to bring repentance, revival and regeneration to the Midwest and to the ends of the earth! We are excited to be a part of that vision for building up the Body of Christ through His Word by His Holy Spirit!
We believe God wants to continue this work to raise up His Church to equip and send men and women of God into the field that is clearly ripe for harvest. We believe He wants to use Calvary Chapel Living Hope not only in our very own communities, schools and workplaces, but in more church plants throughout the Midwest and missions work around the world. Our prayer and belief is that God is building that very thing today in our midst.
We hope you will come, learn, and grow with our church family as we enjoy our awesome Lord, Savior, and Friend, Jesus Christ. You are precious in His sight!
In His Love and Grace,
Pastor Steve”
